July 1, 2007 -- An end of an era. I have moved to more a blog based web presence and because of this Doug World! will no longer be updated. I have also removed some of the really old material like my fiction. Please see the front page and visit the other links there.
May 3, 2005 -- Finally redoing all the section pages. Updating the graphics, colors, and formating.
April 28, 2005 -- Moved Doug World! to a new server after 7 years on Yahoo Geocities. I figured if I'm paying for hosting I would consolidate my site to my paid host.
July 22, 2004 -- Added a new essay on my philosophies page titled "Why I can't vote for President George W. Bush"
July 5, 2004 -- Added a photo page from a recent trip home to Findlay.
March 15, 2004 -- Updated my TV favorites page and adjusted the IMDB links for shows I included.
March 7, 2004 -- Updated myMovie Favs page. Adjusted the links for the IMDB site as they changed their link structure. Also fixed the search mechanism.
January 8, 2004 -- First update of 2004. General refresh to add new copyright dates.
December 9, 2003 -- Posted some updated material and pages. Added more links to my Annex page. It moved ISPs so I had to update the links anyway.
July 21, 2003 -- Launched a redo of my first Blog "Cadfile's View of the World", first started in 1999 and added 2 new Blogs: "Cowtown Rant" and "Hancock County Politics Unfiltered". Comments are welcome for each post. Renamed my ISP webspace "Doug World! Annex".
April 8, 2003 -- Added new article about the backlash to celebrities speaking out against the war with Iraq.
January 28, 2003 -- Has it been a year since the last update? Today I posted refreshed pages. No new content but I checked out all the essays and articles and I corrected some page errors. I plan on adding some new content sometime this year.
January 19, 2002 -- Major site rehab in progress. I got tired of the layout and colors. 3 years is long enough plus I had to update some long dead links including the Webrings I belong to. Today I updated the home page and the major section pages. I will be working on it for the next week or so. One thing that won't be back is my Talk section. It got little use.
September 24, 2001 -- Updated my Musicfaves page to include the Corrs group and changed all the info links to AllMusic.com. It is a better site that has information on all types of artists and music and the info is on one page. I also added a new essay to my Humanism section talking about the events that happened on September 11 in New York.
June 7, 2001 -- Added the final report about the Ohio Motto case. The ACLU decided not to appeal to the US Supreme Court because of the current conservative bloc possibly ruling against them. Yahoo turned off my ~cadfile address when they took away my Geoplus service. So now it seems I have to start over from scratch in building traffic. Please update your bookmarks to the basic http://www.geocities.com/cadfile addy. Notice there is no curly symbol before cadfile.
May 14, 2001 -- Some major changes here at Doug World. I closed my Columbus Media Watch project after 3 years. I just wasn't able to give it the attention it needed. The rants and links will still be available here at DW! but the pages will not be updated any longer. I added a new essay in my Humanism section which is a review of the book Mind Siege by Tim LaHaye. It is a scary book. I also removed the last bits from my time as a Geocities Community Leader including my Athens site awards.
March 16, 2001 -- The court ruled in the Ohio Motto case today and Freethought had a setback. I have added 2 new articles about it on my Motto page.
January 31, 2001 -- Did some house cleaning in my Ohio Motto case section and added an update to the story about a Nativity scene in Lancaster that was protested in 1999.
December 7, 2000 -- Moved my Columbus Media Watch pages to their own server. Added a new article to my Ohio Motto issue page as the next round begins in Federal court.
October 8, 2000 -- General refresh. Removed or changed some old links. Updated Columbus Media Watch. Added a Blogger Page where I can write thoughts down which are then published on the fly. Removed pages and links associated with the now defunct Geocities Community Leaders program. I am still available to answer HTML and website questions. Just e-mail me.
September 4, 2000 -- Added a Yahoo! presence gizmo on the front page that will tell you if I am online and using Yahoo! Messenger.
July 6, 2000 -- Added a new gizmo to the index page. I got a neat little freeware program called GeoHTML to make an image map for navigation off the front page. I'll leave it up for a while to see how it goes. It is the Doug World! masthead graphic. The words are links. Also did some refreshing, removing some outdated graphics and links. I haven't really been working a lot on the site because my other projects have been taking time to get off the ground. One is iHumanism and the other is called Humanism Expressed. Both are expansions of my essays on my Humanism section. Check them out.
April 25, 2000 -- The 6th District Court of Appeals threw out the Ohio state motto in a 2-1 decision. Check out the details and the background in my ACLU vs. Ohio section.
April 24, 2000 -- Added my take on the Elian Gonzalez case that took a wild twist over this past weekend.
April 23, 2000 -- General Refresh of the index page. Added links to the two projects I have been working on the past few months. iHumanism is an Internet Humanist Community and Humanism Expressed uses Real Audio to present commentary for and about Humanism.
March 8, 2000 -- Major Refresh! Added new section called Sundries that includes some odds and ends that don't fit into any other section on the site. I included 3 lists of my favorites in TV, Music, and Movies. Added a javascript nav drop down list for a try out. Due to a major technical glitch with my Geo guest book I changed to Dreambook. I also tried to unite some of the color elements like links and such so they matched across the site. I'm tired..... enjoy!
January 14, 2000 -- For my first update of 2000, I added a fluff page that includes a 30 sec welcome message wave file that I made with Cool Edit 96. I also added my newest essay about Humanism called "So, you want to be a Humanist?" on my Humanism page.

August 31, 1999 -- Minor update. I added a new essay in the Humanism section. I also caught some spelling and grammar errors that hadn't been caught before. I'm still working on a couple of new essays that I mentioned in the entry below, sorry I haven't posted them yet.
July 12, 1999 -- Minor update. I adjusted the margins in all my essays and fictions so that they are more readable. I also added a style sheet to justify all text across the entire site. I'm working on a couple of more essays to be added this week.
July 7, 1999 -- The site combination mentioned below seems to be over but some kinks still remain. There was a major issue concerning the copyright of original work posted to a Geocities site. I held off adding any new material and started to move my essays and fiction off the Geo server because of the issue. Fortunately the issue was resolved on July 6th with Yahoo! adding a Geocities specific Terms of Service that resolved the entire issue. With that done I have added some new material. There is a new essay in my Humanism section and a new article in the section of Columbus Media Watch. More should be coming shortly.
June 25, 1999 -- Just a note: Yahoo! and Geocities are in the process of combining their sites as part of their recent merger, therefore I'm holding off any updates until the kinks are worked out. The process may cause trouble accessing this site at least through July 3rd. You have been warned.
May 11, 1999 -- Pages refreshed. Some page titles changed as part of suggestions during the Best of Athens review. Added Extreme tracker to all the main section pages. Added a Listbot e-mail announcement list for DW changes. More to come.
