| The next day we had breakfast from room service (cool!) and then took a tour of the city via Olde Town Toronto Tours. We rode on the top of an open double decker bus getting a good overview of the city. The tour was of the "hop on/hop off" kind where you buy a pass for the day and get on and off depending on what you want to explore more closely. The one place we stopped to explore was the Royal Ontario Museum. It had an exhibit of art work from the Albert & Victoria Museum in the UK. It was interesting. |
We came upon this union parade while on the bus |
Home of the Toronto Maple Leafs |
We also drove past the Maple Leaf Gardens, home of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team. While we were there they were building a new arena and they moved in this year. |
| We drove past historic Fort York. It defended the area now known as Toronto from attacks by Indians, the French, and those pesky American Rebels. The fort use to be right near the shore of the lake but because of land reclamation, the fort is further inland. |

Here's a daytime view of the theater where we saw Phantom |
Later that night we attend a show of the "Phantom of the Opera" at the Pantages Theater. It was my first professional style musical and it was pretty good. Our seats were along the left wall about six rows from the orchestral pit. The angle was not great but we could see most of the stage. |
